Our Story: A New Chapter in a Long Legacy
The Vision
At Lake Trail Church, we aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel. We are simply seeking to continue the story that began two thousand years ago—a story of people transformed by the Gospel, living in deep community, and following the Word of God together.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer… And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” — Acts 2:42-47
Our Roots: 140 Years in the Making
While Lake Trail is a new name in Cleburne, our roots go deep. Our “sending church,” Northpointe Church, has been a pillar of faith for nearly 140 years. In 2020, Northpointe cast a renewed vision for multiplication—not just to grow a bigger building, but to send out healthy, Gospel-centered churches into the surrounding communities.
In 2025, that vision took a major step forward with the launch of a residency program designed to equip leaders to plant churches. Lake Trail is the first fruit of that mission. We stand on the shoulders of those who have been faithful to the Word for over a century, and we are honored to carry that torch into Cleburne.
Why Cleburne? Why Now?
Cleburne is a special place. It’s a growing city of nearly 38,000 people—full of young families, hard-working neighbors, and children who are the future of this community. As the city grows, the need for communities centered on the Gospel grows with it.
We aren’t planting Lake Trail due to an absence of faithful churches; we’re planting because our city’s “harvest” demands more. We believe every person in Cleburne deserves a place where they are known, where they are cared for as a soul rather than a number, and where they can find the life-changing truth of the Bible.
The Opportunity: A Door Opened
In the summer of 2025, God opened a door for us. Through the generosity of the Southwest Metroplex Baptist Association, a building became available to serve as a hub for this new mission. We saw this not just as a location, but as an invitation to plant our lives in this soil.
Doing Life Together
Our story is still being written, and it’s a story of families doing life together. Whether we are meeting in living rooms, serving at a local park, or gathering for worship, our goal remains the same:
-
Engage our neighbors with the hope of Christ.
-
Develop disciples who are rooted in the Word.
-
Multiply God’s impact in every corner of our city.
